April holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, with an Emphasis in Fitness, Nutrition, and Health. She is currently pursuing a Master's degree at Abilene Christian University in Marriage and Family Therapy, with a focus on Child and Adolescent Therapy. As a student intern specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy, she is passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families strengthen their relationships and find meaningful ways to grow together. Every person's story matters, and she strives to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their challenges, discover new perspectives, and move toward lasting change. She wants to help couples improve their communication, rebuild trust, and deepen their emotional connection.
Her approach draws from evidence-based modalities, such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to foster secure attachment, Gottman Method Couples Therapy to build skills for conflict management and intimacy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help individuals and families develop new ways of thinking and responding.
She brings not only her medical clinical training of 20+ years but also her own life experience to her work. She is a married, proud mom of two boys, and a dog lover. Having lived in Texas as well as both the East and West Coasts, she has developed a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and perspectives, which she integrates into her approach to therapy. She enjoys traveling, dancing, and football.
April offers low-fee sessions for individuals, couples, and families at $50. She is committed to making therapy accessible and creating a supportive space where clients can build stronger relationships, discover new perspectives, and find hope in their journey toward healing and growth.
