April Armellino, LMFT Associate, supervised by Ryan Lloyd, Ph.D., LMFT, LMFT-S, brings a warm, compassionate, and relationship-focused approach to therapy. She is passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families strengthen their relationships, navigate life’s challenges, and create meaningful, lasting change. April believes every person’s story matters and strives to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable exploring their experiences, gaining new perspectives, and working toward their goals.

April holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Fitness, Nutrition, and Health and earned her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Abilene Christian University, with a focus on Child and Adolescent Therapy. Her background gives her a unique perspective on the connection between individual well-being, relationships, and family systems.

April draws from evidence-based approaches, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help strengthen connection and secure attachment, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients develop more helpful ways of thinking and responding. As an EMDR-trained therapist, she incorporates trauma-informed approaches to help clients work through difficult experiences, build emotional safety, and move toward meaningful change. She is also Prepare/Enrich Certified and uses this framework to help couples and families better understand their strengths, improve communication, and build stronger relationships.

In addition to her clinical training in marriage and family therapy, April brings more than 20 years of experience in the medical field, along with the perspective gained through her own life experiences. She values working with people from different backgrounds and brings curiosity, empathy, and respect for each client’s individual experiences into the therapy room.

Outside of her professional work, April is married and a proud mom of two boys, as well as a dog lover. Having lived in Texas and on both the East and West Coasts, she has developed an appreciation for diverse cultures and perspectives. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, dancing, and football.

April offers individual counseling sessions at $100 and couples or family sessions at $120. She is committed to creating a collaborative space where clients can strengthen their relationships, discover new perspectives, and find hope as they move toward healing and growth.
